April 17, 2024POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTYouth Service/Recovery Support CoordinatorSalary Grade 18: $61,811 - $70,590 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Youth Service/Recovery Support Coordinator to assist the Division of Addiction Treatment and Recovery (ATAR) at the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) in its administration of the NYS EQUITY Grant. This initiative is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Youth Service/Recovery Support Coordinator will ensure the availability of a coordinated, integrated system of care for the population of focus (transition age youth in Queens, Suffolk, and Nassau counties) and their families. Candidates should have strong management, writing, and oral communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with diverse stakeholders; and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other required attributes include the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with changing needs and priorities, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Access, Word, and PowerPoint. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:•Facilitating relationships between the project’s direct service provider (Outreach) and other youth-serving providers •Providing support in enhancing/establishing Outreach’s relationships with medical practitioners (including pediatricians), juvenile justice, and child welfare agencies•Coordinating trainings for Outreach staff•Facilitating monthly project meetings between OASAS and contractors•Maintaining an up-to-date project workplan•Tracking and processing payments to contractors•Writing, compiling, and disseminating project information internally and externally•Some travel required, 5-10% Minimum Qualifications:•A Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a substance use disorder (SUD), health, or mental health field and/or in a project management role, OR•A Master’s degree with 1 year of professional experience, OR•A Ph.D.•Candidates must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in public health, public administration, sociology, psychology, project management, business, or a related field. Demonstrated experience implementing projects of similar size and complexity is desirable, including examples of projects and references who can speak to the success of those projects. Experience working in culturally diverse communities is an asset.
