What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a highly motivated Classified Network Information Systems Architect to lead the classified network services and collaborate with multiple technical areas across IT.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Design, deploy, operate, maintain enterprise network services and traffic controls
Work with SNL Corporate networks, remote SNL, business partner networks, and emerging purpose-built enclaves
Partner with Cyber Security and Networking teams to architect and engineer custom design network flow and behavior solutions
Perform security implementation (STIGS)
Identify and fix workflow, traffic, and service impacts
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$66,900 - $150,000
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Assurance or a related field; or equivalent (AS + 4 years or no degree + 8 years)
Experience to include the following areas:
Campus Networking
Remote/Branch Networking
Security Implementation (STIGS)
Troubleshooting network issues
Experience designing, documenting, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructures
Experience interpreting new business requirements and proposing suitable architecture changes
Experience with LAN/WAN equipment (routers, switches and protocol analyzers)
An active DOE Q clearance is required to start
Qualifications We Desire:
Experience with network automation
Experience of network equipment from various vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Extreme and Juniper
Experience with protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTPS, IPSec, SNMP, VXLAN and other related protocols
Proficient with network automation (Ansible, Python, YAML, and GitLab)
Experience working with networking technologies in a classified environment
IT Service Management, Network and Project Management Certifications (such as CCNP, ITIL Foundations, PMP, etc.)

The Enterprise Network Services organization is responsible for providing secure, consistent, and highly available network infrastructure services to meet Sandia’s core corporate and mission IT needs. Posting Duration:

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
