What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Information Systems Engineering Project Manager to provide leadership to support the delivery of key strategic cyber projects!
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Collaborate with team members to complete requirements gathering, create project plans, budgets, and detailed project schedules
Lead teams/projects to deliver critical products and services on time, with the desired features, and within budget to enable the Cyber Program to succeed
Manage key Cyber Security processes and maintain communication with customers and partners on status
Coordinate and deliver communication products and reports that convey critical program elements to key customers and Senior Management
Maintain program and process documentation to accurately represent and lead a portfolio of ongoing projects and initiatives
Join forces with various teams and departments across Sandia to enable project success
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range:
$95,400 - $185,700
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, plus 5 years of experience as a project manager; or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years)
Experience in methodologies, processes, tools, and applications commonly used in information systems development and project management
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
Experience in some of the following:
Leading teams in projects associated with Cyber Security or Information Technology (IT)
Producing and managing strategic documents and activities
Guiding continuous improvement initiatives that result in improved products and/or services
Report automation leveraging tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
Willingness to take initiative, take ownership of job responsibilities, and make appropriate decisions to complete tasks
Good communication, team building, and conflict-resolutions skills
Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) certification or experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification from the Project Management Institute
Active DOE Q clearance
About Our Team:
Sandia's Cyber Security Program is responsible for the protection of Sandia's electronic information while enabling mission work. Our Cyber Security responsibilities include technology research and development of next generation cyber systems and technologies; including but not limited to areas such as encryption, authentication and authorization methodologies, intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, forensics, reverse engineering incident response, and remediation. Further, we conduct data acquisition in support of the corporate electronic discovery requirements related to litigation and investigation of waste, fraud and abuse. Sandia prides itself on providing cyber security leadership across the NNSA and DOE complex. Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Position Information:
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
