The Engineering Manager position leads a team of project engineers in the designing and testing of generator paralleling switchgear and controls. This position performs technical reviews of project designs as well as support for hardware design, PLC programming, and testing of their team’s projects. The Engineering Manager monitors the quality, cost, and schedule of their team’s project. They provide technical guidance for design standards for the overall engineering department.

What you will do:

  • Lead a team of engineers in the technical design of power and generator control switchgear.

  • Lead a team of engineers on project execution while monitoring quality, costing, and timeliness of projects.

  • Train, mentor, and develop a team of engineers to improve their overall technical capabilities and align with the engineering department’s objectives and strategies.

  • Point of technical and commercial escalation for team members.

  • Conduct performance and merit reviews for team members

  • Actively lead and execute new product development and enhancements to switchgear design and controls.

  • Perform technical design reviews of drawings and final testing of switchgear projects.

  • Assist with the hardware design, PLC programming, and testing of generator paralleling switchgear controls.

  • Represent company with internal and external customers.

  • Assist other departments in the application of our products.

What you will have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology

  • Experience designing, testing, and commissioning highly complex generator control systems.

  • Have extensive knowledge of system operations and PLC/Controller based controls

  • Have a clear understanding of NEC, UL, ANSI, CSA requirements.

  • Ability to accurately evaluate team’s workload, and delegate tasks as necessary.

  • Ability to edit, teach, and apply new designs to the company standards.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
