SENIOR MANAGER OF ACCOUNTS PAYABLE - Private Equity Backed Healthcare Company in Alpharetta

My client, a private equity backed healthcare company in Alpharetta, is on the lookout for a seasoned and proactive Senior Accounts Payable Manager to lead and enhance their accounts payable operations. This role involves overseeing a multifaceted AP function within a complex organizational structure, including multiple legal entities and joint ventures. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in accounts payable management, financial reporting, and team leadership, coupled with experience in managing intricate business environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and streamline the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to boost efficiency and compliance across all AP activities.

  • Oversee check processing and verify check registers.

  • Manage AP processes for joint ventures, ensuring compliance with partnership agreements and financial reporting standards.

  • Work collaboratively with joint venture partners to resolve payment and invoicing issues.

  • Maintain and manage relationships with key vendor billing departments.

  • Coordinate with vendors and joint venture contacts to ensure billing alignment with partnership agreements.

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to accounts payable.

  • Perform detailed analyses to spot trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements.

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate the accounts payable team, offering guidance, training, and performance assessments.

  • Promote a collaborative and results-driven team environment.

  • Identify and implement best practices and process enhancements to optimize accounts payable operations.

  • Utilize technology and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular reviews to uphold the integrity of the accounts payable function.

  • Partner with procurement, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth financial processes.

  • Serve as a key contact for resolving complex AP issues and inquiries.

  • Collaborate with the accounting department during month-end close to ensure accurate accruals.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 7 years of experience in accounts payable management, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience managing AP for complex organizations with multiple subsidiaries.

  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail for identifying and addressing financial discrepancies.

  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
