Summary

The Sr. Merchandising Operations Manager is responsible for building and leading a highly motivated Merchandising Program as well as managing the logistics and delivery of successful merchandising visits across multiple programs and retailers. They will receive inbound requests for merchandising projects and work with MarketSource’s merchandising team on planning and prioritization. In addition, the SMOM will work closely with the clients and cross functional delivery leaders to determine required instore activities, client reporting requirements, and all additional information required to ensure the successful execution of all projects. This position requires a combination of operations, sales, technology, and management experience. This role is responsible for collaborating to create a process that will drive expectations within a specified account base. The SMOM hires, coaches, trains, develops, and mentors their team, executes market and account plans, collects real-time account information, partners with the client to drive innovation and value, and ultimately drives business results.

Essential Job Functions:

· Develop, implement, maintain, and responsible for multiple programs.

· Recruit, hire, and retain high-performance individuals dedicated to achieving designated targets

· Manage the training of new employees

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders

· Work with Salesforce Admin and BA to assess program performance and progress; gather best practices

· Seek to deliver continuous improvement to deliver exemplary results related to the program metrics

· Conduct weekly business reviews with the teams

· Closely monitor program objectives and provide critical performance feedback

· Provide program oversight and direction with a client-centric approach

· Drive the performance of the team to satisfy and exceed program goals and objectives

· Evaluate performance vs. expectations

· Develop and implement processes and measures to drive performance

· Ensure all activities are being completed and recorded correctly daily

· Provide analysis for ad-hoc executive management reporting

  • Partner with the Merchandising BA(s) to assist in client reporting

  • Plan and direct the program’s activities to achieve financial and performance targets mutually established by MarketSource and the client

  • Partner with Delivery Leader to Manage client commitments and expectations

  • Monitor Program objectives and provide critical performance feedback to the client and leadership

  • Coordinate contingency plans supporting business continuity when employees are unavailable for extended periods of time

  • Perform regular financial and program reviews with delivery partners

  • Define, plan, communicate, and measure employees on team objectives associated with effective territory management within, and in conjunction with, program initiatives

  • Ensure effective control of results, and takes corrective actions to guarantee that achievement of objectives fall within designated expectations

  • Assist team with maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing opportunities

  • Train team on necessary skills, tools utilization, product information, and business intelligence

  • Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives; works on strategic projects that have total network-wide impact.

  • Effectively leverages Managers to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges within the program

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to create and deliver presentations to small and large groups

· Excellent written, oral and presentation skills

· Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing high performance Programs with aggressive goals and delivering successful results

· Ability to build strong partnerships with internal employees as well as external stakeholders

· Proven ability to analyze and improve work processes for efficiency

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree

· 7+ years in a Operations Management role

· 4+ years of experience demonstrating success managing multiple merchandising projects

· 75% travel (approximately 2-3 weeks per month), occasional overnight
