How you make a difference
The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Services Supervisor and will be responsible for performing daily maintenance and operations tasks, including repairing and maintaining electronic, mechanical and electrical systems in all facility equipment and buildings, as well as upkeep of the building and grounds. The role may also involve inventory management, supplier negotiations, and interaction with customers, manufacturers, and internal department personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a range of competencies in multiple trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, concrete, carpentry, grounds maintenance, and gardening. The work is of a general nature and does not require a licensed skill level of an electrician or plumber.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform general maintenance on buildings and machines, including minor plumbing and electrical work, carpentry and repair work, and pipefitting.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for various building systems.
• Assist with basic work projects such as demolition, digging trenches, and removal of debris.
• Ensure building security and maintain cleanliness of equipment and storage areas, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform landscaping duties such as lawn care, tree and shrub trimming, and application of pesticides and fertilizers, while applying erosion control methods.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (required), or a completion of course work or training from a Trade school.
Experience
- One year of relevant experience preferred
