Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. About the Role

Oversee the implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining of all automation equipment. An important competency in this position is the troubleshooting of PLC’s, robotics and automation. Success in this role will be demonstrated by meeting safety and quality standards while driving revenue increases through improved automation processes.

Hours- Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm (Overtime expectations of coming in earlier than 3pm or staying later than 11p to help with launches, cover vacations, etc.)

Pay Range: $27 -$31 depending on experience (Plus $1 for 2nd shift premium)

Your Responsibilities

  1. Works on the programming, implementation and troubleshooting of site PLCs, robots and HMI.

  2. Evaluates current manufacturing equipment/controls/robotics, resolves problems and makes recommendations for improvement. This includes performing preventative maintenance of production and support equipment.

  3. Writes and edits machine control programs to interface process equipment to safely operate production equipment (i.e., program light guards) and avoid malfunctions.

  4. Assists in setting up, maintaining programming, electrical components and schematic standards

  5. Improves equipment reliability and uptime related to automation and controls

  6. Implements Continuous Improvement ideas related to automation and robotics as assigned and comply with automotive specifications.

  7. Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical systems.

  8. Understands the necessary programs to integrate multiple different programs, control data, and user data inputs as part of overall system functionality.

  9. Controls, configures and interfaces applications for a large variety of devices.

  10. Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals.

  11. Works with internal and external resources to ensure all project needs/expectations are met.

Who we are looking for

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred

  2. 2 to 4 years of work experience in a related field

Your preferred qualifications

  1. Familiarity/Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC’s, 6 axis industrial robots, and Fanuc Robotics

  2. General mechanical systems knowledge and industrial electricity skills

  3. Ability to use a laptop to connect and monitor PLC programming for the purpose of troubleshooting machinery function issues.

  4. Ability to manually operate industrial robotics to address machinery stoppages.

  5. Ability to read complex industrial controls wiring diagrams and use these with a multi-meter to troubleshoot issues.

  6. Familiarity with variable speed drives, setup, programming, and troubleshooting.

  7. Excellent communication skills

  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  9. Ability to determine manufacturing needs to develop automation processes

  10. Ability to interpret and implement specifications
