Summary

The Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (ISU VDL) Information Technology team in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking qualified candidates for a Business Systems Analyst II position. The ISU VDL is a full-service veterinary diagnostic laboratory engaged in daily missions of service, teaching and research. The laboratory processes 120,000+ submissions from veterinarians and researchers annually.

The Business Systems Analyst II will collect, analyze, test and report VDL data in a way that supports the VDL’s mission to deliver accessible, timely accurate, valid and consistent testing. The incumbent will also design, build and automate customized reports and dashboards for VDL financial transactions, internal business operations, client management, diagnostic processes and key business insights.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.Example of Duties• Performs research and business analysis.• Researches best practices and assists with developing actionable insights and recommendations for business operations.• Participates in design and system development and tests changes for usability, performance, and adherence to standards.• Prepares complex statistical summaries and special reports.• Advises management and employees on business systems.• Works on a variety of complex projects.Level Guidelines• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity• Provides guidance to students
