Stellar Technology Janitor in Amherst, New York
Amherst. Stellar Technology. Janitor. $18 - $20/hour.
Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities, assisting Maintenance staff, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalks.
Job Responsibilities:
Specific duties to include, but not limited to: * Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. * Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up. * Service, clean, and supply restrooms. * Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. * Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. * Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using a hand truck. * Remove snow from sidewalks using snow blower and/or snow shovels; spread snow melting chemicals. * Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. * Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. * Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation. * Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. * Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using appropriate cleaners and equipment. * Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. * Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. * Perform general clean-up of all areas of the buildings as directed. * Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders. * Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests. * Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped. * Travel between buildings.

Work Experience:
Required Minimum of 2 years janitorial experience.
Education: * High School degree or G.E.D.
Language Required: English
