Stellar Technology Safety and Compliance Specialist in Amherst, New York

Amherst. Stellar Technology. Safety and Compliance Specialist. $50,000 - $65,000/year.

Job Summary:

In coordination with Stellar Technology management team, the Safety and Compliance Specialist will directly monitor the entire facility operation to always ensure safe, compliant and efficient operation at all times and take any steps as necessary to correct issues that may arise.

Job Responsibilities:

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to: * Responsible for maintaining a culture of accountability, professionalism and commitment to company quality and safety standards. * This includes alerting management to unsafe conditions, working with the appropriate resources to correct unsafe conditions, ensuring associate safety compliance, conducting periodic safety training, and investigating accidents as required. * Manage the company safety program. This includes ensuring company OSHA compliance, regulatory and statutory compliance. * Deliver and/or coordinate all regulatory or company required testing and training as per defined schedules or upon a change to requirements. * Ensures ESD/FOD compliance including conducting periodic audits along with procurement of ESD coats and uniforms for all necessary employees and monitoring charges. * Implement and maintain all site required documentation and records related to the Emergency Health & * Safety Management system including accident reports, inspection and audit reports, training logs, etc. * Lead Development, documentation, and improvements of the Quality System to ensure conformance and effectiveness to assure customer satisfaction. * Maintain all required training documentation. * Identify and lead or participate in continuous improvement activities. * Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions. * Organize and oversee Emergency Response Team. * Encourage and solicit associate process improvement suggestions, and work with all appropriate parties to implement. * Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure company KPI goals are attained. * Responsible for monitoring waste including chemicals and batteries and initiating improvement opportunities with the goal of waste reduction. * Improve and maintain systems for proper disposal of hazardous waste including chemicals and batteries. * Performs all other duties as assigned.

Competencies Required: * High School Diploma/GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. * Ability to handle multiple project assignments. * Ability to lead cross functional teams. * Excellent organizational and planning skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff. * Proficient with ISO 9001 and AS9100. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. * Excellent organizational and leadership skills. * Problem-solver. * Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
