Who will you be working with?

Wabtec is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for the freight and transit rail sectors. You will be working with the Europe Supplier Commodity Managers Group, for the Forging, Casting and Machining Commodity.

How will you make a difference?

As an Europe Supplier Quality Commodity Manager , reporting to the Europe Supplier Quality Commodity Leader, you will be responsible to ensure best quality performance of suppliers within supplier commodity panel; manage critical supplier issues (ensuring proper Root Cause Analysis, Corrective actions and recovery plan implementation); ensure continuous supplier performance improvement.

What will your typical day look like?

Ensure Supplier Quality for Forging, Casting & Machining Commodity

  • Support commodity panel management and development of (sub-) commodity, preparing decisions to the SQC Leader and Commodity buyer(s) for selection of suppliers to commodity panel management and development in link to purchasing strategy

  • perform assessment audits (generic and processes) of new and existing suppliers of the commodity panel and follow-up the defined actions in link to these audits as per Wabtec rules

  • re-assessment and / or Process re-qualification at main suppliers in the panel to ensure quality standard and continuous supplier development

  • Support Product Line / Site Supplier Quality for preparation of first PPAPs at new suppliers to ensure good communication and early escalation of potential issues in link to release of new parts

  • Support the definition and follow-up of actions for supplier development programs and the link with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing)

  • Prepare and support Top Offender meetings and with main suppliers of assigned (sub-) commodity

  • Join reviews and reporting of commodity panel development with internal stakeholders (Purchasing, Quality)

Ensure management and support of Critical supplier issues within the commodity in cooperation with PL / Site Quality, Engineering and Project Management:

  • Ensure proper root cause analysis at suppliers

  • Ensure implementation and efficiency of corrective / preventive actions

  • Support effective COPQ recovery process from suppliers in cooperation with Commodity Lead Buyers and Product Line / Site organization (Quality, Purchasing, Project Management)

  • Regular review and reporting of status and progress to SQC Leader

Standardization and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop skills to drive long-term improvement with standardization activities on FCM Commodities;

  • Support suppliers with growth activities, guidance and improvement of their internal processes

  • Serve as the interface between Wabtec Sites and FCM Commodity Suppliers in the event of disputes

  • Support the application of Wabtec Standards within FCM Commodity Supplier processes

What do we want to know about you?

  • Education: Engineering / Metallurgy / Quality

  • Experience: relevant experience in a globalized industrial environment with at least 5 years of experience in Quality.

  • Technical requirements: knowledge on Mechanical drawing, experience in Machining and Casting processes

  • Languages requirements: English fluent. Other language is a plus (Spanish, Italian, German, France)

  • Strong communication skills in a multicultural environment

  • Open-minded person, able to work in global organizations.

  • Curiosity and willingness to increase proper knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional tools

  • Travel availability at least 30%-40% of time work mainly in Europe
