The Account Executive is a sales leader in the Benelux region responsible for driving new growth among existing customers by cross-selling new PayPal products into the assigned customer portfolios. The Account Executive will build strategic C-level relationships and develop robust merchant growth plans mapping PayPal's suite of payment and commerce solutions to the account's business needs.
As an Account Executive, you will partner closely with internal cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Product, Risk, Legal, Operations and Integration, to deliver multi-product solutions. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end sales process, including developing the sale, negotiating contract terms, and closing deals. Your success in this role will be based on quota attainment and inorganic growth.
You will become part of one of the fastest growing business units and offices in PayPal. The Benelux region is driving local growth while being strongly connected with PayPal’s global network. The Amsterdam team is a true representation of PayPal as a global platform with a lively and diverse mix of backgrounds, functions and PayPal business lines.

Key Experience
Minimum 10 years of platform selling experience with complex, enterprise solutions to large enterprise companies in commerce, travel, digital goods, tech industries
Multi-year track record of successfully managing multiple accounts while exceeding both renewal & new business targets
Proven consultative sales abilities and demonstrated ability to work well in a matrix environment, collaborate across multiple departments, and influence all levels within an organization to close sales
Prior payments knowledge preferred
Success in a start-up or culturally diverse experience is a plus
Demonstrates commercial acumen and the ability to understand business plans / financials to create value for customers
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience required
Excellent knowledge of English is required
Requisite Responsibilities
Strategic account development
Analyzes accounts' business needs in detail and works with Customer Success Managers to identify opportunities for cross-sell
Develops and manages account plans and merchant strategy In order to execute winning plan to drive short-term and long-term strategic goals
Generates product strategies and value propositions tailored to each organization by aligning PayPal solutions to account's unique business needs
Builds trusted relationships with clients at multiple levels, including users, managers and C-level business leaders, to increase sales opportunities
Travels up to 20% of the time
Cross-functional collaboration
Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure an effective sales effort, including but not limited to product and technical specialists to deliver value propositions across the PayPal portfolio
Liaises with diverse groups at merchant client, including Finance, Technology, and Operations, in order to sell complex solutions with multiple stakeholders
Operates as an integral member of the broader sales team, sharing learning and leading by example
Proactively solicits coaching from management and applies to field activities
Sales management
Drives revenue growth of PayPal solutions by meeting or exceeding quotas on quarterly and annual basis
Manages the sales cycle for assigned PayPal accounts including outreach and relationship management, sales proposals, and negotiating and closing business
Drives incremental share-of-check-out, parity placement, presentment and integration quality
Maintains accurate and up to date records in customer relationship management (CRM) system at all times, including activity logs, pipelines, and revenue forecasts
