The Walt Disney Company Investigative Research Specialist in Anaheim, California

About the Role & Team

The Investigative Research Specialist conducts research data analysis through various investigative techniques and practices. The Investigator Research Specialist will be working in conjunction with an experienced Investigator on Security-related investigations, programs, and projects and conduct research analysis.

This position reports to the Manager, Security Investigations.

This is a Full-Time role that requires working on weekends and holidays.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct research analysis into unlawful activities and violations of Company policies and procedures in an efficient, detailed, and professional manner.

  • Track and analyze emerging trends regarding fraud, theft, and other potential criminal activity.

  • Use open-source and social media platforms to help identify subjects related to criminal activity.

  • Prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive collaborative relations with various partners.

  • Author detailed professional reports based on analysis and maintain well-organized and accurate files.

  • Interact over the phone or chat messaging to identify potential fraud, fraud trends, and or theft.

  • Ability to be flexible with work hours to respond to urgent issues and the situational needs and requirements of the workload.

  • Maintain strict discretion and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work both independently and with investigators on initiatives for security, investigative enhancements, and process improvements.

  • Interface, as necessary, with Management concerning ongoing investigations and related investigative matters.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement and other internal and external business partners.

  • Ability to partner with other Disneyland Resort business units to develop and implement Employee training to maintain awareness and minimize incidents.

  • Communicate directly with guests and banks as part of ongoing fraud investigations. Connect with potential victims of fraud to establish evidence of a crime before providing a detailed report to internal and external law enforcement.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Highly developed PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and other software and tools used for reservation and ticketing-based applications.

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Knowledge of open-source and social media platforms

  • Demonstrated positive relationship skills.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail skills.

  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn new software applications.

  • Seek guidance/approval and communicate as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in guest information, ticketing, and reservation sales

  • Knowledge of Galaxy, Opera, and Travel Box systems

  • Guest Services Suite (GSS)

  • Experience working in a small team environment.

  • Effective conflict resolution techniques

  • Prior case or project management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of management.

  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects.

Required Education:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

The pay rate for this role in California is $29.40 per hour.
