SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist will assist in the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including recruitment, benefits administration, new hire onboarding and enforcing company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out administrative work involving the human resources functions and maintains related records.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, leave of absence (i.e., FMLA, Military Leave), recruitment, onboarding, recognition, and compliance training.
  • Assists with pre-employment screens and onboarding efforts as needed.
  • Organizes, updates, and maintains personnel files; prepares and manages HR documents, and performs data entry for the HRIS system software.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • May propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources and operations.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of employment regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, applicable laws, and employment legislation pertaining to all personnel matters, and various federal requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for year basis)
  • At least one year of relevant, full-time human resources experience preferred.

Preferred:

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
  • Experience with and understanding of Costpoint
  • Familiar with iCIMS ATS and Onboarding

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, and positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTC are required.

Salary

$75k/annually
