Summary:

Internet2 is seeking a creative, collaborative, hands-on practitioner of Data and Database Management who will (with collaboration of Systems Administrators, Developers, Engineers and Architects), develop, manage, maintain and enhance Internet2's foundation information repositories, data integration platforms, and analytical information stores. The qualified candidate will: Solicit, refine and respond to concrete business requirements, with the Data Architect and Applications team members - define solutions, advocate and implement using industry best-practices. This role will be instrumental in building and maintaining the information stores which power the organization's Identity and Access Management functionality, Community Engagement and Customer Communications engines, and Member management services.Embracing a cloud-first, DevOps model, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency in a hybrid variety of deployment modes including commercial cloud and on-premises delivered solutions. Responsibilities: Implement systems based on Architecturally-prescribed requirements.With support and input from architects, realizes architectural schemes using prescribed/selected technologies, implements data and information structure and features, data-persistence designs; data models; and information structures.Organize information by translating information presentation requirements into database structure and elements; producing data workflow diagrams, use-case analysis, flowcharts, or other relevant artifacts; configuring access specifications based on organizationally-specific requirements. Communicates and coordinates these requirements with dependent line-of-business staff.With guidance from the Data Architect, implement and maintain data architectures by developing and deploying schema , monitors performance and operational fitness, identifies security requirements and works with operations and information security staff to ensure data integrity and security, automates where necessary, and documents structure and processes.Validate data delivery and integrity by ensuring proper execution of test plans.Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art commercial and open-source solutions by tracking research regarding data integration and data governance, as well as data modeling/database practices and technology.Participate in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.Diagnose and troubleshoot data integration and/or database errors.Be available for on-call support as needed.Travel for team meetings, conferences and as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, management of information systems, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, database architecture, data modeling, data integration/ETL development or a related field.Thorough understanding of application software disciplines; bus
