Job Summary
The Robotics Department is looking for a team-oriented professional to teach courses in Robotics with topics including computational linear algebra, calculus, programming, robot operating systems, artificial intelligence and computer vision, manipulation, human-robot interaction, embedded systems, and physical computing. We are also looking for areas of electronic system design and fabrication, robotics sensor systems, and autonomous systems. Robotics applications include industrial, mobile, rehabilitation, medical, soft, aerial, underwater, and legged locomotion robotics.
Our department is growing, and as a member of our team you will have the chance to grow along with us. This is a non-tenure track faculty position with a nine-month appointment and an initial term of three years. You will report to the Undergraduate or Graduate Chair, depending on the portfolio of courses you teach. This position is open and the anticipated start date is August 25, 2025.
What You'll Do
Lecture in introductory and/or advanced courses in Robotics
Develop course material, including lecture notes, homework and lab assignments, programming assignments, quizzes, exams, etc.
Evaluate assignments and projects, assign grades, provide verbal and written feedback
Mentor and advise students and student groups
Participate on committees supporting Robotics programs

Required Qualifications*
MS or PhD degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
Effective teaching experience in robotics-related courses as evidenced by evaluations
Software experience in diverse environments (ex. Python, C/C++, SolidWorks, ROS, EAGLE, Linux) with proficiency in several
At least 1 year or more experience with prototypes electronics, 3D printing
Track record of outreach activities
Interest and ability to work with open-source software libraries, such as for inter-process communication, computer vision, and robot control
