A Scientist - Complaint Investigation position is available immediately. As a member of the Product Support Group, you will work cross-functionally to find root causes and resolve issues in response to customer complaints. Key responsibilities include initial evaluation of the issue, data gathering and analysis to support the complaint, and providing investigation details and recommendations to Quality Affairs when preventive and corrective actions are required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology/biochemistry and data analysis as well as knowledge related to quality management systems. We are looking for a well-rounded candidate with a knack for problem solving in both team and independent settings to ensure the completion of time sensitive tasks. Responsibilities: - Determine the root cause of reported customer complaints using a variety of methods for complaint investigation. - Gather available information from the initial investigation as documented in Salesforce complaint cases. - Critically analyze, interpret data, and draw conclusions based on system data and logs, customer observation, and initial investigation details. - Identify, confirm, and interpret instrument performance issues related to software, hardware, user error, etc. - Perform data trending when multiple complaints of similar nature are reported. - Independently design and execute experiments to support complaint investigations. - Communicate issues cross-functionally and provide suggestions, solutions, and/or test plans for resolution. - Understand the requirements of the end-user and provide feedback regarding process or system improvements accordingly. - Maintain accurate data records, test plans, and reports. Clearly summarize and present information to senior management and other personnel both internally and externally as required. - Comply with document control procedures and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system. - Comply with biohazard safety standards through proper handling of potentially infectious biological agents and other hazardous chemical materials. Position Requirements

  • BS or M.S. in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, ideally in the molecular diagnostic industry.
  • Work experience with medical device/ diagnostic assay complaint handling preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills to understand and solve complex, interrelated issues between assay chemistry, reagents, consumables, hardware, and software.
  • Excellent project management skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills exemplified by clear oral presentations and written documentation.
