Actalent Network Management Systems Engineer in Annapolis, Maryland

Job Title: Network Management Systems EngineerJob Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, evaluating, and administering network security and communication technologies products and solutions. Familiarity with cybersecurity methodologies, concepts, and technologies as they apply to network and cloud infrastructures is essential. The candidate will collaborate with Corporate Security Teams for the planning, development, implementation, and management of the overall system security strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate hardware and software components into the system test and field environments.

  • Author, review, and maintain documentation during all phases of the system design life cycle, including Project Plans, Estimates, Requirements Documentation, Operational Scenarios, Design Documentation and Drawings, and System Acceptance Test Plans.

  • Conduct threat and vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation, information assurance, penetration testing, and develop well-written reports and briefings to provide an accurate depiction of the latest threats and security risks.

Essential Skills

  • STEM Degree with 2 years of experience

  • Applications Development

  • Scripting experience in Python, Bash, Perl, Shell

  • Experience with large scale Wide Area Network Infrastructure environments comprised of routers, switches, firewalls, security appliances, and applications

  • Experience with troubleshooting issues within infrastructure systems

  • Network Security and Cyber Security expertise

  • CCNA certification

  • Experience with WAN and SQL

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with network and applications management concepts

  • Experience with technologies and techniques in a large LAN/WAN environment, including SNMP v1/v2/v3, polling/traps, Syslog, and Netflow

  • Experience with the collection and analysis of firewall and network logs, host system logs, and IDS alerts to identify malicious actors

  • Experience with computer exploitation methodologies and data correlation through the use of a SIEM

  • CCNP certification

Work Environment

The role requires working 3 days a week onsite in Annapolis, MD with flexible hours. The candidate will support systems impacting millions of lives across the world. Tuition reimbursement is available after transitioning into the role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00
