The IMAQ Walden Joint Venture (IWJV) offers nationwide specialized security, access control, remote monitoring, surveillance, and protective services to the federal government with a total of 70 years of experience under the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Mentor Protege Program. In 2021, the SBA formally approved our Mentor-Protege Agreement, strengthening our team’s capabilities to perform security services for Small Business and 8(a) requirements.

Job Skills / Requirements

Armed Security Officers will provide a variety of security services for the Center for Disaster Preparedness contract.

  • Follows all assigned post orders, both general and specific.

  • Maintains compliance with the policies and procedures and overall operations listed in the SOW.

  • Controls access to the facility, including unrestricted areas.

  • Enforces systems of personnel identification.

  • Inspects packages/vehicles.

  • Performs both static and roving patrol.

  • Identifies, corrects, and secures any point of security violation and initiates necessary reports.

  • Identifies, detains, and reports any persons suspected of violation or unauthorized access attempt to CDP facilities until appropriate law enforcement arrives.

  • Performs traffic control as needed.

  • Receives, issues, and accounts for keys, locks and access control passes.

  • Monitors facility protection devices and alarms such as fire, chemical agent, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.

  • Completes monthly required training.

  • Passes semi-annual weapons qualification standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

  • Must possess a minimum of three years of experience in security, civilian law enforcement, or an equivalent position with the Armed Forces.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos using the English language. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Alabama Armed Security Officer License

  • Certification in the use of weapons

  • Alabama Wear and Carry Permit

  • Valid Drivers' License

  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain and hold security clearances and pass semi-annual weapons qualification standards

  • Complete pre-placement screening and evaluation, including submission to a criminal background check, financial institutions/credit bureau check, and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

  • Ability to pass a drug screen and medical exam.

  • Vehicle operators must be at least 25 years of age and have a driving record with no more than one moving violation.
