DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this Accounting Technician role, you will be responsible for the reconciliation and coordination of vendor management and payment activities for all types of procurements and contracts for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. This includes tracking and following up on invoices returned for non-payment to ensure they are corrected. You will correspond and coordinate with vendors, comptroller staff, purchasing agents, and other accounting staff, as well as generate reports for reconciliation, research discrepancies, process direct pay invoices, and oversee refund and returned checks.

Attention to detail is essential to ensure that vendor payments are made in a timely manner and any discrepancies or payment issues are resolved. You may also have the opportunity to develop and provide training on procurement processes, conduct internal audits and reviews, and provide input into a variety of policies related to purchasing and vendor management or for the development of new procedures. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Sometimes this position requires long hours and potential for overnight stays. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, five out of ten days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Fiscal Assistant or an Accounting Assistant; or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions. This position is in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. You must be able to work in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Experience in purchasing work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records. Experience in responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices. Experience in purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, or services. During activation of State Active Duty, the DMVA Procurement and Contracting Office is responsible for the procurement of goods and services to sup ort the National Guard often times requiring long hours and stressful situations with the potential of overnight stays. Must be willing and able to work under these conditions. This position may require travel to the Veterans Homes as well as other field sites. You must be able to travel frequently if needed, including overnight stays. Legal Requirements: You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
