JOB REQUIREMENTS: SUMMARY This position is responsible for all aspects of sanitary curd handling from the drain table through green packaging. This position is responsible for daily and periodic sanitation of equipment and work environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains accurate, legible records of cheese location and quantity. Complies with all company Safety, HACCP and GMP policies. Immediately reports any food safety or quality issues to management or other individual authorized to initiate action. Wheel Production- Hooping (Role Emphasis): Fills cheese wheel molds with cheese curd using packing equipment, monitoring cheese wheel size. Stacks wheels horizontally onto cheese presses. Flips 20 lb wheels in press to ensure proper wheel form. Removes cheese from molds. Maintains accurate wheel weights and counts. Cleans and sanitizes production area and equipment. Palletizes finished wheels and transfers cheese to other production areas using forklift. Removes, washes and sanitizes hoops and lids. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Basic computer skills, with proficiency operating Window\'s based software. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of two, three and four digit numbers using units of weight measurement and counts. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to maintain legible accurate records. Ability to work independently as well as on a team. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and a wet and humid environment. Temperatures regularly reach between 80-90 plus degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED Personal protective equipment that is required when working with hazardous materials or loud equipment includes: safety goggles, rubber or latex gloves, lab coat and hearing protection. Other recommended PPE includes: face shield, chemical resistant apron and steel toe shoes.
