Position Title:
Transfer Coordinator and Pathway Facilitator (SSP III Equivalent) - Academic Advising
Reports to:
Director of Academic Advising, Cal Poly Humboldt (federally funded grant position; non-stateside)
Overview:
The Transfer Coordinator and Pathway Facilitator will play a crucial role in supporting students from local high schools and community colleges as they navigate their transfer to Cal Poly Humboldt or another four-year granting institution. This position is dedicated to ensuring seamless transitions for students in the Redwood Region, focusing on transfer needs, dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment, and Credit for Prior Learning (CPL). Additionally, the facilitator will collaborate with faculty advisors and the Academic Advising Center to guide students through course selection, articulation processes, and connection to campus resources. This position will work in collaboration with related personnel in admissions and records to enhance our services and support for incoming transfer students.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advising to community college and high school students in the Redwood Region area on credit transfer, dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment, and CPL strategies.
Guide students through the transfer process between institutions, ensuring they maximize transferable credits to avoid delays in their academic progress.
Assist transfer students at Cal Poly Humboldt with course selection, articulation agreements, and identifying campus resources.
Advise students pursuing pathways in healthcare and educational professions.
Support students transferring to Cal Poly Humboldt from California Community Colleges through the Transfer Success Pathway.
Collaborate with department chairs and transfer advising personnel to coordinate resources, programming, and support for incoming transfer students and those planning to transfer.
Work closely with the Curriculum Office and the Office of the Registrar to understand and advise on Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) agreements.
