About the role: The Cardiac Diagnostics Solutions, Inc. (CDx) software development team within Boston Scientific's CRMDx division plays a critical role in creating and sustaining technology that enables remote patient monitoring and diagnostics for our customers and patients. This includes both clinician and patient facing applications across cloud and mobile platforms. Development work reflects the intersection of patient and physician needs, technology evolution, scientific research, business development, evolving regulatory environments, cybersecurity and quality considerations and business strategy resulting in products that transform patients' lives worldwide. As the Director of CDx Software Engineering, you will lead R&D functions developing software products and solutions supporting the non-Medical Device Cardiac Diagnostic Solutions ambulatory ECG business at Boston Scientific. This organization includes systems, cloud and mobile application development, test, supporting both new product development and sustaining existing product lines. These functions are made up of a global engineering workforce with resources in the US (Minnesota & Texas) as well as Boston Scientific at Pune, India. Your responsibilities will include: Leadership - Develop and execute strategies to create high-performing functional teams. Establish team goals to support overall business objectives. Lead functional managers through mentoring, talent development/retention, and performance management. Product Development Execution - Utilize appropriate processes and development methodologies to enable highly efficient, quality non-medical device development. Oversee Cardiac Monitoring Center Tools development. Develop and drive quality and productivity improvement initiatives. Sustain existing product lines. Innovation - Monitor and anticipate industry and technology trends to ensure competitive and compliant systems that are well-positioned for future needs. Leverage technology, AI, processes, and organizational tools to enhance productivity and efficiency. Identify creative solutions to balance portfolio needs across franchise business requirements. Collaboration & Communication - Communicate effectively with senior leadership, peers, direct reports, your organization, and cross-functional partners, including the Cardiac Monitoring Center (CMC), Marketing & Product Management, Regulatory, Operations, IT, Patient Safety, and Quality. Strategic Influence - Develop and drive strategies that contribute to and align with strategic plans in the Cardiac Diagnostics business. Utilize a variety of inputs, including patient and clinician needs, post-market experiences, technology advancements, and market opportunities. Skills: Strong record of developing individuals to achieve project, functional excellence, and career goals. Strategic Vision - ability to develop a strategy for an organization based on a variety of inputs, cascade that strategy, and successfully execute it. Demonstrated focus on quality and continuous improvement. Proven success and track record of leading a technical organization and motivating teams for high performance. Experience developing products in a complex, cross-functional, global development environment. Ability to create productive working relationships with functional and cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to influence functionally and cross-functionally for alignment and action. Demonstrated ability to col aborate at all levels to develop and execute strategies to deliver R&D milestones. Ability to make effective decisions with limited information. Ability to provide high-level leadership while also maintaining a strong understanding and attention to detail for supporting functions. Effective communication with all levels of the organization, including the ability to tailor messaging to the specific audience. Demonstrated innovation mindset, able to challenge the status quo to identify and drive improvement opportunities Required qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor's degree. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience or minimum of 8 years relevant work experience with a master's degree. Minimum of 5 years in aleadership position within R&D. Knowledge and experience in software engineering disciplines. Medical device product development or similar experience. Proven attributes and skills in the areas of leadership, people development, collaboration, communication and strategic influence as described above. Preferred qualifications: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Proven ability to create a positive working culture within a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work across functional teams in a matrixed environment.
