Job Description
You will be trained on several operations. First, you will package diabetic testing kits, standing primarily on mats. Each kit contains between 5 - 10 items, and you will follow work orders to complete each type. You will put parts into the kit, run it through a scanner to register the ID number of the product, and set it onto a rack for final packaging. The work is fairly fast-paced, but quality is prioritized over quantity.
You will also work at a station sitting down, doing hand assembly of diabetic needles. Parts range from the size of a pen cap to a sewing needle. The work is repetitive, and you will progress to making up to 1600 parts per shift.
Additionally, you could learn coil winding, which involves taking very fine wires, using a tweezer to set them into a clamp on the machine, and watching as the machine winds the coils. This task requires the use of microscopes for inspection but is the only microscope use in the building.
Finally, you will perform entry-level machine operation, where the machine assembles diabetic needles. You will monitor the machine for any jams, collect products into bags, label them, and watch for quality issues.
