Assistant Purchasing Manager

Summary: Performs same duties as Purchasing Manager. Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in an organization when the Purchasing Manager is absent by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may beassigned.)

• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the implementation of the corporate contracts. May enter information into Navision and validating its

• Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of storeroom and central supply personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and

• Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs after an inventory is taken.

• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company

• Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.

• Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.

• Interface with corporate purchasing on supplier problems and give feedback on supplier Update corporate purchasing on new products used and specificationchanges.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasingdepartment

• Experience in shipping andreceiving

• Familiarity with supply chain and inventory managementsystems

• Understanding of forecasting andbudgeting

• Working knowledge ofNavision

• Proficient in MSOffice

• Excellent organizational and leadershipskills

• A problem-solver

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
