United States Steel Paint Line Scheduler/Paint Purchaser, BRS in Arkansas

Objective of the Job:

Ensures policies, procedures, and all activities pertaining to this position are carried out to support BRS goals and objectives in the Coated Products Department with a strong focus on Quality and Inspections Systems

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.

2) Development and implementation of the surface inspection systems with correlation to BRS surface defect criteria and ratings.

3) Assist in training of personnel on surface inspection systems use and functionality.

4) Assist Paint Line Process Engineer with coil/paint dispositions, data analysis, and sample gathering

5) Spot check recent production for quality concerns and address as needed

6) Assist Quality, Production, and other personnel as needed in detection, identification, and troubleshooting of quality issues.

7) Assist in the development and implementation of quality policies, standards, and procedures.

Qualifications:

1) Safety, detail, and quality oriented

2) Strong systems knowledge and understanding with the ability to interpret customer requirements and specifications

3) Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills

4) Good organizational / time management skills.

5) Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal. Computer literate.

6) Ability to work independently and to work proactively with other departments.

7) Highly Motivated, Self-Directed, and willing to put in extra effort when needed.

8) Minimum 5 years pre-paint experience

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to work in an office setting with daily tasks in the mill, which typically involve extreme hot/cold environments. This position can require long hours, weekend, and holiday coverage to support routine responsibilities.
