Amazon Localization Program Manager, AWS Worldwide Field Enablement in Arlington, Virginia

The AWS Worldwide Field Enablement (WWFE) Organization is responsible for end-to-end enablement across all customer facing role.

As Localization Program Manager for WWFE, you will be responsible for managing complex localization processes, and working with global stakeholders including enablement managers, program managers, content strategy leads, multimedia / learning experience designers, and language service providers. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge in localizing multimedia rich content such as eLearning and video, and well versed in program management who is able to drive localization strategic initiatives such as operational excellence, quality assurance, and best practice establishment against our team’s goals.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

• Concurrently manage multiple end-to-end localization productions that are in different phases such as defining scope, planning to execution.

• Drive simultaneous shipping (or “sim-ship”) for some global and regional programs by collaborating both internal and external stakeholders globally.

• Help identify areas for improvement in our tools or process that scale the team and reduce time-to-launch.

• Provide support for implementing new workflow when enablement or training is developed for new modality or learning management systems (LMS).

A day in the life includes managing localization productions, working on localization initiatives, brainstorming with peers, self-directed development time, and participating in regular team strategic planning sessions.

About the team

Worldwide Field Enablement (WWFE) is responsible for providing enablement to sales and marketing customer-facing employees through training (self-paced, virtual, and ILT) and tools.

The WWFE Localization team supports our stakeholders in launching localized enablement and training for their global and regional programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience of managing localization productions with using project management (i.e, Smartsheet) and translation management tools and systems (i.e., memoQ).

  • Direct experience, and/or having knowledge of eLearning content authoring and/or video editing tools.

  • Autonomous and self-starter, with ability to prioritize issues effectively to meet tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • • Familiarity with foreign languages (French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese) is a plus, but not essential to succeed in this role.

  • • Knowledge of Articulate 360 products (Storyline and Rise).

  • • Experience gathering requirements and developing specifications for a solution related to localization process and/or tools, with ability to succinctly summarize key findings.

  • • Experience working with, and/or having knowledge of sales enablement in cloud computing industry.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
