Summary About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, G-5, in Arlington, Virginia. About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums. Responsibilities Analyze and evaluate performance against desired outcomes as identified through the Campaign Plan and Director initiatives. Conduct analysis and assessment consistent with the Campaign plans. Summarize and synthesize complex analysis into simplified terms and graphics. Develop, present, and defend assessment reposts to senior leaders. Develop measures of performance and measures of effectiveness. Basic Requirement for Operations Reseach Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a wide range of theories, concepts, and methods of analytical, mathematical, and statistical principles and practices; developing multidisciplinary solutions to complex problems; querying data techniques using analytic software; writing material such as correspondence, explanations, reports analytical assessments, and similar documents to communicate technical and non-technical content clearly, concisely, and accurately. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Manages and Organizes Information Organizational Awareness Research Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
