Amazon Software Development Engineer in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon’s Finance Automation team delivers business process improvement solutions to our internal Finance customers. We develop and scale state of the art software systems to handle billions of transactions across the globe to meet internal reporting and regulatory needs.

We are looking for a software development engineer eager to work in a team of innovators and contribute to a suite of tools that power operations in FinAuto team. You will be working in an Agile mode, frequently collaborating directly with product management and design to iterate at a fast pace and delight our end users. You will be building a new software solution to replace the existing application using latest technologies.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Define high level and low level design for software solutions using the latest AWS technology in a large distributed environment.

  • Take the lead on defining and implementing engineering best practices and using data to define and improve operational best practices.

  • Help drive the architecture and technology choices for FinAuto products.

  • Design, develop and deploy medium to large software solutions for Amazon FinOps needs.

  • Raise the bar on code quality, including security, readability, consistency, maintainability.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
