What you will do

As Senior Staff Engineer, Process Automation in Advanced Operations you will work independently to determine and develop approaches to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. You will use the latest engineering techniques to launch new products and reduce product time to market whilst adhering to regulatory requirements, project deadlines, and product costs. The Senior Staff Engineer fosters productive internal and external working relationships and may periodically provide guidance and train other team members.

  • Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented following the Stryker new product development procedures

  • Ensure quality of process and product as defined in the appropriate operation and material specifications

  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements

  • Work with quality engineers to develop component-specific testing and inspection protocols

  • Support capital acquisition activity from specifying equipment, contract negotiation, installation, and validation

  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and result analysis

  • Lead and/or participate in process review meetings

  • Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, and PPAP generation associated with product transfers and launches

  • Complete capability studies for in-process inspection and generate subsequent inspection documentation

  • Conduct MSA studies for new products and new processes

  • PLC software development and troubleshooting

  • HMI (Human Machine Interface) software development

  • Evaluate and troubleshoot applications programming code

  • Provide training for manufacturing team members

  • Ensure adherence to GMP and safety procedures

  • Review and approval of validation documentation

What you will need

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience required

  • 3+ years of PLC and HMI programming experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing equipment implementation projects is highly desirable

  • Experience of GD&T, process mapping, statistical methods, and process/ product validations - preferred

  • New product introduction in a regulated environment experience – preferred

  • Proficiency using PLC software tools

  • Project Management Skills

  • Fluency in English
