Job Summary:
Plant Prefab is seeking a Framer to play an integral role in growing, maintaining, and optimizing the operations here at Plant Prefab! In this unique and challenging position, the Framer will be responsible for positioning and constructing wall panel framework. This person will be required to integrate well within a cross-functional team that includes all trades in the factory to ensure the production operations are set up for success. All work is to be carried out safely while adhering to Plant Prefab's quality guidelines, policies, and standards while driving the culture and successful tactical implementation of such. The position will be based in our Tejon Ranch, CA facility and report to the Framing Supervisor.
Core Responsibilities:
- Obtain cut lumber from kitted bundle, organize, and position pieces to construct wall panel framework in the Weinmann Framing Workstation.
- Feed framework subassemblies and components through the Weinmann Framing Workstation.
- Responsible to ensure the quality of the trade's product is checked and verified as the designated Quality Control Inspector for the trade.
- Ensure all framing work is always carried out in a safe manner that complies with all environmental and OSHA safety regulations.
- Ensure all framing work is performed in compliance with Plant Prefab standards, SOPs and the Quality Manual applicable building codes, HCD FBH 314, and other applicable regulations.
- Build Plant Panels using best practices and the latest SOPs.
- Complete all framing work according to the latest Shop Drawings and machine files while complying with Plant Prefab standards and quality standards.
- Complete all framing work within manufacturing tolerance, efficiently and with minimal waste and spoilage.
- Ensure the Weinmann equipment is processing material with minimal downtime.
- Identify non-value-added operations in the organization and propose new operational procedures to achieve leaner processes.
- Consider health, safety, sustainability, and the environment in all decisions and actions.
- Execute various other activities as assigned to support the success of the organization.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong Communication skills both written and verbal, with ability to convey information effectively to individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.

- 2-5 years of framing experience, preferably in custom residential, modular and/or multi-family construction.
- Knowledge in construction methods, means, materials, best practices, and schedule management.
- Able to effectively complete all activities and tasks to deliver a high caliber of finish quality and craftsmanship.
- Possess excellent time management skills to drive schedules, manage resources, and to optimize critical elements that ensure successful project outcomes.
- Exceptional attention to detail in construction.
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks and priorities, with the ability to prioritize urgent matters quickly and effectively.
- Ability to be an effective team player, with a collaborative approach to working with others to achieve shared objectives.
- Ability to operate high-speed equipment efficiently while adhering to all required safety protocols.
- Exhibit a high level of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to the mission and values of Plant Prefab.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to adjust to sudden changes in pace.
