Full-Time Job Announcement

Position: Esthetician Instructor

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Division of Business Industry, and Technology

Reports to: Dean of Business Industry, and Technology

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefit package.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, instruct students in Esthetician skill areas.

  • Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.

  • Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives.

  • Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.

  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.

  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.

  • Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.

  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.

  • Respond in a timely manner to administrative requests.

  • Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.

  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

  • Demonstrate strong time management and organization skills.

  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication.

  • Contribute to the writing of accreditation and assessment reports.

  • Demonstrate general computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel).

  • Assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

  • Ability to work flexible hours and teach at multiple campuses as needed.

  • Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching courses, data collection, & reporting for licensing and accreditation agencies and the College.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Cosmetology or a related field.

  • A valid Georgia Master Cosmetology license or Georgia Esthetician license.

  • Five (5) years of work experience in a position related to Cosmetology or Esthetics.

  • Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or technical Institution.

  • At least Five (5) years’ experience in a position related to Esthetics.

  • Previous work experience in the esthetics industry with a focus on the following: treatment room set up, infection control procedures, preventive facial treatments, advanced facial treatments, and advanced hair removal.

  • Previous work experience providing makeup application in film, TV, and/or commercial settings, including film industry special effects.

  • Certifications in skincare services and/or makeup artistry.

  • Previous experience with NIC licensure exams.

  • Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.

  • Previous online teaching or training experience, including the use of video capture tools.
