Ohio University Research Grants Development Coordinator in Athens, Ohio

Job Description:

This position submits grant applications and proposals through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs for the Russ College, assuring that each proposal is in compliance with appropriate guidelines and that it meets college and university budget standards. The position identifies possible opportunities for grant funding from federal, state, local and private entities.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the development of research grant proposals among Russ College faculty, staff, and external entities. This includes the development of preliminary budgets, interpretation of university and sponsor guidelines to ensure compliance, narrative composition, proofreading, copy editing, electronic proposal formatting, completion of all required submission forms, and application of and use of the LEO /Cayuse electronic system. Coordinate as needed with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education, and the Financial staff for Russ College.

  • Identify, investigate, and prioritize opportunities for external funding including competitive grant programs, cooperative endeavors, and contracted work with local, state, federal and private agencies, and industry. Work with and guide faculty and staff to pursue these identified opportunities.

  • Develop and conduct grant writing and proposal related workshops for faculty, staff, and graduate students as needed. Create and lead research orientation of new faculty.

  • Other duties as assigned include possible grant post-award activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, or related field.

At least 3 years of related work experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in English, communication, or related field.
