Robert Half Accounting Manager in Atlanta, Georgia
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is focused on directing and overseeing the daily operations of our accounting functions with a specific emphasis on non-profit and grant accounting. The position involves managing all aspects of grant accounting and providing precise financial data and insights to support effective decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage the financial affairs of the organization, ensuring all financial activities are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
• Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Implement effective and accurate grant accounting procedures, ensuring all grants are appropriately matched with expenses.
• Prepare all financial reports for grant applications and reporting processes and ensure that expenses are being allocated appropriately against each grant.
• Prepare and analyze budgeting and financial forecasting of the organization and its projects.
• Monitor the financial status of all projects and its allocated budget in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits and implement necessary changes to the accounting procedures based on audit findings.
• Collaborate closely with the leadership team on all operational and strategic issues as they arise, providing recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
• Utilize Quickbooks Online, bill.com, and other accounting software to maintain accurate records and facilitate financial reporting.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed to support organizational decision-making. Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant role such as Accounting Manager or similar
• Proficient in analyzing financial statements and providing ad hoc financial analysis
• Must have hands-on experience with Quickbooks Online and bill.com
• Demonstrated ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven experience in full cycle accounting and ledger journal entries
• Proficient in financial reporting and cash flow forecasts
• Previous experience with government grants and grant accounting is required
• Must have experience in budgeting and forecasting
• Familiarity with establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must have a strong ethical stance towards the confidentiality of financial information.
