Atlanta Technical College Accounts Receivable Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Full-Time Accounts Receivable Supervisor position, in the Administrative Services Division. This position is located at ATC's (Main Campus), which is just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Job Description:

  • Correctly applies accounting principles according to GAAP, Governmental Accounting Standards, applicable state and federal guidelines and TCSG fiscal policies and procedures;
  • Adequately analyzes accounts receivable transactions on reports, as well as accounting systems and sub-systems;
  • Requests and deposits state, federal, and other funds to ensure adequate cash balances in Central Office's bank accounts. Processes check inquiries and stops payments;
  • Carefully reviews documentation, entries and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews complex accounts receivable billing documentation and other information to arrive at logical and accurate accounts receivable billing statements.
  • Processes electronic fund transfers (ACH) to technical colleges and vendors via the Micro Cash Bank systems. (Performed by all incumbents);
  • Post payroll deposits on a monthly basis, and ensures they are reconciled with payroll
  • Maintain accurate records on student scholarships and balance general ledger
  • Prepare annual petty cash, issuance of petty cash reimbursements, and post End-of-Year receivables
  • Supervise cashiers to include training, assisting with disputes, and managing transaction window coverage
  • Promptly advises supervisor of any balancing problems with deposit slips such as incorrect amounts;
  • Prepares standard statutory, regulatory and GAAP financial and/or accounting reports; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in accounting or closely related fieldandFive (5) years of experience in accounting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of governmental accounting experience
  • Two (2) years of leadership/supervisorial experience
  • Efficient in Banner database and State of GA Peoplesoft Financials
  • Experience with Workday
