The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources, technology, and business for the purpose of constituent engagement, donor research and solicitation, and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems. We foster collaborative connections and value diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Donor Relations.

The Donor Relations team is responsible for stewardship strategies for all donors, Emory’s loyalty societies, and those who give to specific campaigns or projects. In addition, they design stewardship for major and principal-level donors across the university and partner on donor-specific recognition and stewardship plans. This position will be involved in designing and implementing the stewardship experience for $100K-$999,999 level lifetime donors, including one-to-one outreach. This position will report to the Director of Donor Relations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the planning, management, and implementation of programs designed to enhance and strengthen Emory's relationships with donors and significant donor prospects.

  • Programs may include donor acknowledgment, stewardship reporting, donor recognition, donor engagement, or events.

  • Compiles and analyzes data and provides recommendations for stewardship activities.

  • Reviews data and benchmarks donor participation to support evaluation of outcomes and effectiveness of donor relations activities.

  • Provides reports and data needed to review and assess program plans.

  • Performs related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Represent the department or serve as primary contact working with other departments across the division/University.

  • Provide support for team projects, such as on-site event assistance, stewardship summit participation, and/or report proofreading/editing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in donor relations, stewardship, fundraising, or alumni engagement OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidates will possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and comfort working closely with high-level donors.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate a complex work environment.

  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, the ability to work collaboratively, and comfort working with ambiguity.

  • Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, database and project management software, and CRM systems.

  • Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.

  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
