Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer, Aviation to join our team! In this role you will get to support the Area Construction Manager/Resident Engineer in the management of construction including coordinating efforts of the contractors during construction, closeout, and occupancy and may function in a Resident Engineer capacity on small, non-complex construction contracts at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in administering contract.

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in creating, implementing, and managing Construction Management procedures and processes through the use of a project-specific Procedures Manual.

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in preparing and submitting Monthly Management Reports.

  • Responsible, as assigned, for coordinating the efforts of the contractors.

  • Responsible, as assigned, for evaluating the progress and quality of construction activities in conformance with approved schedules and budgets.

  • Participate in the review and approval of progress payments.

  • Monitor the field coordination and inspection.

  • Review bid package documents as issued by design consultants for omissions, clarifications required, and for coordination between design disciplines.

  • Review all construction documents against design development documents for scope, schedule and budget conformance.

  • Review General Conditions to suit each bid package and oversee performance.

  • Assist Resident Engineer at pre-bid meetings and pre-construction meetings.

  • Expedite resolution of construction problems.

  • Monitor and report all field directives.

  • Obtain Daily Reports from all contractors.

  • Assist in the preparation of the Resident Engineer’s Weekly Report.

  • Monitor design consultant inspections.

  • Participate in weekly construction meetings.

  • Oversee schedule updates, provide and approve any logic changes.

  • Assist in the administration of construction contracts for assigned contracts.

  • Coordinate separate contractors’ lay down areas, office locations, and equipment placements.

  • Coordinate construction interface with local utilities through the Utility/Agency Coordinator.

  • Assist in the negotiation, preparation of and review all Change Orders.

  • Assist in project close out and client occupancy.

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in managing the process and procedures for change orders, claims, and contract revisions as it pertains to schedule and budget.

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in managing contract execution of the work and contract closeout in an efficient, effective, and timely manner.

  • Work closely with the project team to ensure open and full communications on all matters; develop a strong environment conducive to proactive resolution of issues and strong commitment to producing a quality facility.

  • Other tasks as may be assigned.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction or Architecture.

  • Safety Training (minimum OSHA 10 Hour)

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the administration of construction contracts and in the inspection of construction work in the field.

  • Must have worked on a relevant construction project in a minimum capacity of Assistant Resident Engineer or equivalent level of responsibility.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including but not limited to Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and CMR contracts and their execution is desired.

  • Knowledge of and experience in reviewing and understanding a contractor’s Safety Plan and QC Plan is desired.

  • Must also have experience in reviewing and overseeing a Document Control Plan, and development / utilization of a Project Procedures Manual is desired.

  • Previous experience directing, coordinating, and supervising a CM field staff including Office Engineers, and multiple Field Inspectors.

  • Knowledge of scheduling, spreadsheet, document, and database software (such as PMWeb, P6, Microsoft Office package, and others).

  • Experience with Concrete structures, or parking garages or concrete deck.

Salary Range:

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
