Jacobs Civil Engineer - Plan Reviewer in Atlanta, Georgia

We are looking for a driven, curious and client-focused Civil Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a key member of our Civil team, you’ll work on challenging design projects and serve as a plan reviewer on behalf of our clients. Design and consulting projects range from small site design to large campus or facility infrastructure upgrades. You will get to work on site civil layout, grading and drainage (hydrology and hydraulics) design, geometric design of driveways and roadways, utility design, erosion control, and design review. When working as a plan reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing stormwater and related submittals from other consultants to ensure compliance with city, country, state, federal, or other applicable standards. In this capacity you may be embedded with our clients in their office or working in a hybrid capacity with our team.

The successful candidate should be familiar with civil site projects and have extensive knowledge of design drawings. They should be comfortable understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements and have experience with municipal plan review. The candidate should work well in a team environment and be comfortable working with engineers from multiple disciplines. He or she should be highly self-motivated and value a high quality of work. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other applicable engineering field

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the engineering industry

• Extensive knowledge of reviewing design drawings, engineering reports, and calculations

• Strong ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements

• Prior experience serving as a plan reviewer for a city, county, or related organization

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both teammates and clients

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite and PDF editors (e.g. BlueBeam)

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field

• Engineer-in-training (EIT or FE) license

• Professional Engineering License

• CAD/C3D design experience

• Construction site inspection and administration experience

• Familiarity with AutoTurn and drainage programs such as Hydraflow Hydrographs, Hydraflow

Storm Sewers, Culvertmaster, Flowmaster
