KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and maintains a data dictionary and meta data.

  • Supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained.

  • Ensures that the uses of data through reports and queries are accurate.

  • Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs.

  • Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience with enterprise software systems and integration technologies.

  • Experience in web services communication, NEMSIS XML, schematron messaging and validation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication (English) and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders, comprehend requirements, and effectively convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in SQL, XML, NEMSIS schematron and web services.

  • Hands-on experience with EMS clinical data exchange, EMS data repository/analytics products, and/or NEMSIS ePCR products.

  • 3+ years of experience in systems analysis and design, with a focus on conceptual thinking and integration planning, particularly within large organizational structures.

  • Proven ability to work effectively across onshore and offshore teams, including academia, government agencies (e.g., State DOH, CDC), healthcare systems, software vendors, and other complex organizations.

  • Align with the CARES way - our mission is to help communities determine standardized outcome measures for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest to improve care and increase survival. This means a daily purpose of positively impacting lives by equipping providers with the information they need.

  • Serve as primary contact and advocate for ePCR-related activities and communication with EMS agencies, states EMS data professionals, and external software development teams.

  • Oversee and track milestone progress for various upload transition projects in JIRA.

  • Provide XML software support, including identifying and generating software specifications and designing, developing, reviewing, implementing, and revising software applications to meet business needs.

  • Interface with CARES stakeholders, clients and ePCR vendors on an ongoing basis to introduce the CARES ePCR upload process, manage implementation and assist with troubleshooting.

  • Review software specifications, systems, and tasks using analytical and investigative methods and techniques.

  • Analyze, propose, and seamlessly integrate 3rd party client platform data.

  • Peer-review upload criteria to ensure it is secure, functional, and aligned with CARES upload standards and business needs.

  • Generate and distribute validation reports and lists to EMS agencies and vendors on a regular schedule.

  • Participate in software testing and subsequent modifications.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Collaborate with Associate Director of Data Integration on ePCR upload needs for the organization.

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the health of CARES ePCR upload processes.

  • Enforce best practices and compliance standards within the CARES environment.

  • Utilizes knowledge of various operating environments to provide effective software leadership.

  • Manage and support CARES ePCR upload tasks, technical approach, efficiencies, and progress.

  • Communicate with CARES staff on emergent upload issues.

  • Lead and maintain the ePCR setup, submission check, beta/go-live & troubleshooting processes with various vendors.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
