Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team

  • As a DBA at Emory Healthcare, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases

  • You will work closely with other technical team members, developers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective database operations

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support business needs. ¿ Ensure the availability, performance, and security of databases

  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and disaster recovery

  • Monitor and optimize database performance using tuning and troubleshooting techniques

  • Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard database systems

  • Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas that support application requirements

  • Evaluate and recommend database technologies and tools

  • Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration, processes, and procedures

  • Troubleshoot database-related issues in a timely manner

  • Provide on-call support for critical database issues outside of regular business hours

MINIMUM SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • Proven work experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in healthcare industry

  • Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

  • Proficiency in database design, normalization, and performance optimization techniques

  • Experience with database security best practices

  • Familiarity with database backup and recovery solutions

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus
