Job Description

The Director of Breakthrough Innovation, Offering Management, Fire is a visionary and evangelist for Fire software applications and data offerings within Honeywell Building Technologies. This is a unique opportunity to incubate industry leading software offerings from scratch. The individual is responsible for breakthrough ideation and incubation, working closely with Fire industry SME’s to create new software and data offerings in different form factors. The person will have full accountability for the life cycle of the new offerings/ products from research and insights, concept development, product development, to scale-up, branding, launch and commercialization. This person with work closely with our other hardware/ software offering leadersIn addition, the person will be responsible to scale the offering management organization to scale the business. The role will report to the CPO, Fire.

The ideal candidate will have:

· Product management and product life cycle expertise with a proven track record of delivering next generation solutions.

· Proven track record of new product launches, in market success, and scaling a business in Software.

· Strong technical competency and diversity, confident in contemporary software practices, open source, data management, analytics, platforms, IoT, and “as a service” solutions.

· General business, sales and engineering acumen with a solid understanding of budgets, business models, and agile development.

· P&L or front office budget responsibility.

· Ability to lead and manage in a matrixed organization delivering on time, on budget, and on spec with a history of outpacing market performance.

· Familiarity with Customer Success and Recurring Revenue Model Businesses.

· Experience with MVP (Minimum Viable Product) approach – experience introducing basic features to the get the attention of the customer. Then releasing the final product/products to the market after getting sufficient feedback from these customers.

· Channel GTM-Go To Market experience with a new technology.

· Experience driving enterprise Cultural changes into Product and Engineering teams.

· Strong entrepreneurial skills with a keen sense for problem solving and agility.

· Unquestionable ethics, integrity, diversity and inclusion.

· Relevant domain experience in Honeywell’s Fire markets (Buildings, Healthcare, Critical Environment, and Hospitality) a plus.

· Knowledge of developing software marketplace is a plus

This role is responsible for:

· Working cross-functionally across sales, internal/external customers, analysts, marketing, engineering and senior management teams to formulate and execute software product strategy.

· Defining and developing the product road map for the incubation.

· Being accountable for roadmap, product lifecycle and product management processes.

· Managing day-to-day product management activities and shared learnings, best practices and cross business synergies.

· New product innovation and delivery against an breakthrough innovation goals.

· Influencing go-to-market decisions and business models.

· Discovering and implementing new funding models to support the growth.

· Collaborating with Engineering, Connected Leadership, and key stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Honeywell requirements:

Must be willing to be on-site on a 3 day hybrid schedule

· Minimum of 10 years of professional experience working within large matrixed organizations, with proven track record of innovation, delivery, and results.

· Demonstrated entrepreneurial style experience and leadership.

· High intellectual horsepower and strong technical knowledge of the product management lifecycle.

· Experience setting strategy and the vision and building, leading and motivating cross-functional team in creating offerings from scratch

· Experience in interacting with customers and acting as an evangelist for the product vision among core customers and internal business units.

· Experience working with engineering, R&D, marketing, finance, customers and sales.

· Excellent communication skills with strong persuasion and influencing abilities. An excellent motivator who is charismatic, action-oriented, and confident with the ability to inspire confidence in others
