Home Depot Energy Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia
Position Purpose:
The Energy Analyst position will play a key support role in The Home Depot's energy management efforts. The position will identify, distinguish and analyze multiple components of a problem and then make conclusions using high-level quantitative skills to help drive projects and bring value to the Home Depot through energy management operations. Participate in driving operations processes for specific areas of responsibilities and complete project tasks as assigned by managers.
Key Responsibilities:
30% Utilize energy management system data tools to pro actively identify lighting, HVAC, and electrical issues at stores causing either comfort or energy efficiency issues. Create analysis measuring effectiveness of multiple projects expected to reduce energy spend. Resolve issues related to store utility accounts.
20% Identify and report on problematic stores using load profile interval data as well as monthly bill data. Synthesize data from utility bill database to support evaluation of potential new energy projects.
20% Analyze effectiveness of energy efficiency initiatives by compiling and synthesizing data from various sources via appropriate tools (Excel, Access) Use software toolsets in energy management systems to identify issues.
10% Support efforts with third party to acquire rebates for qualifying energy efficiency projects.
10% Conduct analysis on outlier stores to determine root cause of excess electricity and/or water usage.
10% Support purchase activity in deregulated electricity and gas markets.

Typically reports to Sr. Manager or Manager

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Ability to work with data, analyze trends, develop & communicate recommendations
Knowledge of supply and demand side of energy management principles
