Jacobs Entry-Level Water/ Wastewater Process Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

The Jacobs team is the largest water practice in the Atlanta market with a team of 125 determined, high-performing individuals working with most major metro-area clients on a vast array of projects. As a key member of our Atlanta team, you’ll have the chance to perform a variety of municipal drinking water and wastewater treatment and potable reuse engineering work in the initial planning and design phase of projects. Working with other members of our team, you'll work on infrastructure projects evaluating and selecting the best treatment approach to solve a client’s challenges and planning and designing treatment systems and plant improvements. As part of our team, you will also have the opportunity to work with treatment processes that may include screening, grit removal, clarification, biological treatment, thickening, dewatering, biosolids digestion, coagulation, rapid mix, flocculation, sedimentation, granular media filtration, biological filtration, membrane filtration, disinfection (ozone, UV, free chlorine, chloramine), post-filter adsorption, and other treatment processes. You’ll also play a role in improving the resiliency of our clients’ assets.
We’ll rely on you to provide support to our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table. You’ll work alongside professional engineers, scientist, and designers, gaining exposure to project coordination, relevant computer-assisted engineering software, data collection and so much more.

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, or related
Lab experience with thesis or projects including bench-scale testing and wet chemistry analysis related to drinking water and wastewater
Knowledge and skills related to wastewater process modeling software like BioWin
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and pdf editors (BlueBeam preferred)
Enthusiastic, self-starter, organized and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ideally, you also:
Have a GPA of at least 3.5
Have prior work or internship experience
Have engineer In Training (EIT) certificate
Have strong communication skills - reading and writing technical documents, listening and speaking/presenting
Have worked in a team setting
