Job Description:

  • Facilitate daily start up, routine production and changeover processes for assigned lines.

  • Scheduling of personnel to include training, call-outs, and Temporary employees.

  • Coordinate reprocess, including maintaining records for reprocess.

  • Collect and verify the accuracy of downtime worksheets.

  • Update and verify the accuracy of the daily production reports.

  • Collect, verify, and file the production checklists.

  • Verify production numbers with the warehouse and pack production numbers.

  • Implement the production plan for the shift.

  • Ensure that the current production schedule is being followed by team.

  • Manage the indirect material inventory levels to ensure that the demands for production are available.

  • Follow up with the Quality Control department on hold situations to facilitate the creation and implementation of new procedures into the daily production routine to prevent future issues.

  • Coordinate the maintenance work order process for Production.

  • Manage recovery of any non-conforming product delivered to warehouse, coordinate reworking back into production run (missing codes, incorrect coding, and any defective incidents).

  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements to improve processes per the manager’s instructions.

  • Manage GMP/5S guidelines at all times.

  • Participate in projects as assigned.

  • Ensure compliance with all Bay Valley policies and procedures.

  • Achieve and/or exceed safety objectives for area of responsibility.

  • Ensure accuracy of all employee documentation.

  • Develop and deliver presentations as required.

  • Support Plant’s Safety Initiatives and Policies.

Qualifications

The Production Supervisor will work to naturalize and propagate a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture on the production floor by coaching and facilitating the use of the CI toolsets and standard processes to production employees. Responsible for leveraging team-based problem solving techniques (e.g. Production floor gembas, 5S, root cause, etc) to investigate, analyze, identify and mitigate causes of performance gaps on the production line. Responsible for building associate capability and proficiency in operating and maintaining line equipment with the objective of instilling a sense of “machine ownership” in each associate that will be the foundation of the CI initiative. The Supervisor will be accountable for ensuring that production line associates complete the required training matrix for (his/her) line and machine in a specified time frame determined by plant management. The Supervisor must be energetic, self-motivated, and comfortable in leading teams, maintaining a sense of urgency in “Making Success Routine” on the production floor, and building the case for CI initiatives focused on enhancing the stability and reliability of the production line. The Supervisor must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets, and be able to assimilate, analyze, and interpret data in order to effectively drive production line performance. Possess effective written and verbal communications skills in order to effectively lead production employees, communicate goals and objectives, and coordinate communication between production floor associates and management to solve problems and address any resource constraints that may limit production line performance. The ability to draft reports, develop one point lessons, and publish written training material will be a core responsibility of the Supervisor position.

Environmental Working Conditions

Work is performed in various locations inside and outside the Atlanta Plant. Work involves exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, wetness, heights, dust, moving equipment, vibrations and vapors. Equipment used includes various pumps, valves, piping, hose, tanks, machinery, computers and associated software, control panel, forklifts, hand tools, copy machine, label makers and any equipment identified in the role. Personal protective equipment includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, slip resistant shoes and hearing protection.

Employee must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company. Job tasks may also involve:

Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Frequent carrying, reaching, bending, crawling, standing and repetitive motion, and working at heights.

Employee will be expected to attend safety and GMP training, serve on the facility safety committee if requested and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.

Non-essential Functions:

Travel to other locations or sites. Perform other duties as assigned. Explain and demonstrate job tasks to visitors.
