Please review the following job description:

Responsible for executing control testing for assigned business unit/corporate function. Support the effective execution of control testing, aggregated control environment monitoring and trend analysis with the goal of minimizing losses for the Enterprise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Lead effective control walkthroughs to obtain the necessary evidence required to effectively test controls.

  2. Conduct key control assessments on a regular basis (adhering to Enterprise timeframe requirements) to evaluate Business Unit adherence to corporate standards related to internal controls.

  3. Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of activities for control testing with a focus on quality.

  4. Demonstrate understanding of risk and how controls being tested mitigate risks associated with the control.

  5. Interpret testing results for control design and operating effectiveness to provide a final opinion on the controls adequacy and effectiveness.

  6. Perform peer review for teammates within the data testing team to offer constructive feedback on control testing.

  7. Make recommendations and provide practical solutions for the update of Business Unit control documentation.

  8. Collaborate with Business Unit and Risk Management partners as necessary to execute on testing of Business Unit key controls.

  9. Play a key role determining best practices for control testing.

  10. May serve as the subject matter expert to assigned business unit(s) for control testing and risk mitigation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and related training

  2. Five years of experience in a financial institution with emphasis on risk management, audit, operations, process engineering or line of business specialty and/or equivalent education, training and experience.

  3. Solid knowledge of risk management principles and controls, broad-based business practices, and understanding of business process and regulatory requirements

  4. Ability to lead quality assurance and process improvement efforts in a corporate environment

  5. Ability to own projects and drive process change, independent thinking with strong analytical and decision-making skills

  6. Strong interpersonal skills which allow effective working relationships with various levels within the organization

  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  8. Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to operate without close supervision

  9. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
