The General Manager, Information Security Governance and Compliance is the leader for the strategic design and implementation of a program that covers information security governance, compliance, and awareness services. The position requires the ability to lead in a highly matrixed, complex environment, with very large, multifaceted initiatives. In this role you will be responsible for aligning to the larger strategy and executing on the tactical elements to meet organizational objectives. Other requirements and responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Design, implement, monitor, and optimize governance, compliance and awareness programs for the Delta organization.

  • Implement processes and technologies that allow for expanded predictive service capabilities.

  • Direct and lead team of professional security practitioners in the implementation of the overall strategy, providing guidance and inspiration towards a common vision.

  • Work with and collaborate with cross organizational leaders and team in the execution and advocacy of the Information Security mission.

  • Tackle “big” problems, provide options, and drive resolution.

  • Provide consulting/thought leadership for Information Security, IT, and the business.

  • Work as a member of the broader GRC, IT and Delta teams. Do what’s right for Delta.

  • Ensure up to date process and procedure documentation for the team.

  • Identify process improvement/automation opportunities and innovate new ways of doing things.

  • Communicate, and deliver, the value of Information Security throughout all of Delta.

  • Lead with integrity and a positive attitude.

  • Provide leadership and oversight to a high performing team of Delta Information Security professionals to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

  • Meet with staff on a timely basis to conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback. Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to develop and encourage employee performance and development.

  • Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, manage execution, drive improvements, and measure results.

  • Define metrics to accurately convey risk, team performance and measure against goals.

  • Drive awareness and knowledge of security.

  • Perform special projects as assigned, while effectively manage time with competing priorities.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in security

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience managing diverse teams

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adaptable to changing assignments

  • Strong attention to technical detail

  • Ability to partner with executive leadership, consultants, stakeholders and corporate staff, with sensitivity to their needs and priorities.

  • Ability to negotiate to find mutually acceptable solutions.

  • Superior ability to articulate and help partners (technical and non-technical) understand Information Security risk help design secure paths forward.

  • Demonstrated understanding in formulating strategies, alternatives, and recommendations in information security management.

  • Ability to evaluate risk and communicate it in a fact-based manner.

  • Ability to clearly communicate with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts.

  • Ability to lead and mentor direct reports and colleagues, and support leadership directives.

  • Proactive in nature with customer satisfaction as a primary goal

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ownership

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP and CEH.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college/university.

  • Experience with aviation and general industry requirements.

  • Experience with RSA Archer or equivalent GRC tool.

  • Experience delivering high quality results using Agile methodology.
