AIG International Benefits Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia
About the role
Reporting to the Director of International Benefits, the International Benefits Specialist will support the development of the strategy for international benefits, design and implementation of any new or revised benefit programs sponsored by the American International Group, Inc subsidiaries outside the US. The Specialist will also support the Director assessing needs, evaluating cost-effectiveness opportunities, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing or assisting with audits and related activities in order to be responsive to the company's goals and to ensure that the company is competitive within the markets where it does business. The Specialist will also participate in the ongoing monitoring of benefit plans, including group insurance and paid time off programs. This role is comprehensive, working within a fast-paced high-volume environment.
Major Responsibilities and Projects
• International benefits audit, benchmarking, redesign and implementation
• Identification of areas/opportunities for benefit improvement, cost savings and consolidation of plans, including direct negotiations with vendors, broker management, and multinational pooling
• Review of proposals submitted by country HR Business Partners against policy guidelines for implementing new benefit plans or changing existing plans
• Support all benefit matters related to international offices, including M&A activities and post closure benefit harmonization, and the design and implementation of the benefit programs for new operations
The ideal candidate must have the following skills:
• Strong project management skills
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills and proven experience in solving problems and identifying recommended solutions
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail, follow-up and problem resolution
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access) with extensive experience with Excel (Expert level)
• Demonstrated success in a dynamic, frequently changing and geographically and culturally diverse environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with ability to interact effectively and tactfully with all levels throughout the organization
• Team player with the ability to work with and build trust with all levels of internal staff (especially non-US payroll and HR managers), as well as with consultants and vendors
• Recognition of and sensitivity to cultural differences
• Must possess a goal driven sense of urgency and customer service responsiveness, with ability to consistently meet or exceed deadlines on all projects and requests
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Actuarial Mathematics or related discipline
• 3+ years of benefits experience. International benefits experience or domestic health and welfare plan experience preferred.
