Aerotek Production Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Title: Production Manager

Pay 30 - 35 per hour

Job Description

Oversee all facets of production, including scheduling, workflow, resource allocation, and quality assurance. Ensure the timely manufacturing of acoustic panels, bass traps, and other sound treatment products. Establish key performance indicators for production and strive to meet performance goals. Enhance profitability through effective quality control and labor management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and inspire the production team, empowering them to achieve performance benchmarks.

  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to foster a positive and productive work environment.

  • Implement cross-training initiatives to boost flexibility and productivity.

  • Develop, monitor, and enforce quality control procedures to ensure products meet high standards.

  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues.

  • Track inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, coordinating with procurement for timely restocking.

  • Manage inventory efficiently to minimize waste and enhance cost management.

  • Regularly assess and refine production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, uphold safety standards, and expand capacity.

  • Adopt lean manufacturing practices where applicable.

  • Document processes to ensure consistent quality and recommend equipment purchases to enhance operations or increase capacity.

  • Improve maintenance protocols and conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance as needed.

  • Ensure all machinery, including beam saws and CNC machines, is maintained according to manufacturer specifications.

  • Work closely with design, sales, and customer service teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

  • Coordinate with other departments to troubleshoot production challenges, streamline communication, and support the implementation of best practices.

  • Ensure the production facility adheres to all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure staff comply with safety protocols.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar leadership role within a custom manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in operating a CNC router.

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, inventory management, and quality control.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

  • Capability to analyze production data and implement improvements.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing software and tools (e.g., ERP, scheduling software).

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing context.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, made-to-order production setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a production management role, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.

  • A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
