Job Summary

The Americas Security Manager will report directly to the Director of Security - Americas and will have a substantial area of responsibility in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This is a start up position. The role of the Americas Security Manager is to provide dedicated security support to our businesses in the US and Canada. This will include the management of security processes and procedures at company locations, working collectively with other teams on internal investigations and provide security coverage for senior executives during travel and special events.

The position will need to work closely with Health and Safety, Legal, Human Resources, Audit and Compliance, Internal Controls, and Information Security. A significant amount of travel throughout the region should be expected, with a minimum of two weeks a month visiting company operating locations.

Job Responsibilities

Support the delivery of security services for the protection of CRH Group's people, assets and operations. Facilitate local security, conduct/support security investigations, and contribute to the development and delivery of Group Security strategy, programs and priorities and the response to incidents. Be a part of CRH Group Security's network, sharing best practices and offering support where practical. Further responsibilities include: Response to security incidents at operating companies Assist with the travel and event security program, for America travelers and events in the Americas Assist with immediate response and information to travelers in crisis emergency situations Assist the Director of Security - Americas as security adviser in the event of a crisis Identify and evaluate threats, vulnerabilities and consequent risks to CRH personnel, physical security of information, assets and operations Respond to requests for advice and assistance from function and line management by means of security visits, surveys, investigations, and briefings Assist with developing and maintaining security awareness, education and training including facilitating seminars and workshops Develop and maintain effective relations with other like business management and develop security accountability and professionalism Develop and maintain appropriate liaison with law enforcement, intelligence and regulatory agencies Conduct security investigations work as assigned Risk management Support and manage the implementation and continuous refinement of security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security protocols Provide subject matter expertise on regional security issues to other like business management for the benefit of all operations Maintain a culture of security awareness and prevent security incidents Establish and maintain intelligence networks and relationships regionally with law enforcement and other related government/intelligence agencies. Gather regional intelligence to understand, identify and address any threats against the company. Provide proactive leadership on emerging security issues and threats as warranted by current events and trends Protective Services Maintain security instructions, procedures and education Conduct internal and external (towards CRH) criminal investigations Support background investigations of individuals applying for employment and others who seek a business relationship Quality control of CRH local security set ups Support and conduct site reviews of the security operations in the region Support security risk evaluations and site annual risk assessments Support the Executive Protection program Support programs in how to safeguard confidential material

Job Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' experience as a protective security practitioner, a minimum of 3 years of which are at a investigative level working investigations. The incumbent will typically have a law enforcement, military or intelligence background and a CPP certification or comparable education (or combination of these) Ability to work independently Ability to provide guidance and direction regarding physical security system design and implementation. Good oral, written communication and presentation skills. Additional Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Unyielding integrity, strong emotional intelligence, logical thinking and practical judgment. Candidates must be a team player and capable of working closely with a diverse set of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic advice in a fast-paced environment and influence change. Highly skilled at succeeding in a matrix-management environment. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and investigatory skills. Ability to travel extensively.
